This hospital is a care and attention home planned by Master Kwok Kwong, the president of Xianghai Zhengjuelian Society, donated by Dr. Li Ka-shing, and funded by the Social Welfare Department, the Community Chest. It was opened in June 1990 and is dedicated to weak and unattended elderly, providing comprehensive accommodation and nursing services.
