Caritas Hong Kong Elderly Service founded in 1979. Carry out a series of services to meet the needs of the elderly and carers. Services include elderly care centers, elderly community centers, day care centers, nursing and attention homes, integrated home care services, home improvement and community care services, spa services, daily necessities shop for the elderly, Ning’an services, nursing homes, and integrated day service centers for the elderly and carers service support network.
This service unit is a government-sponsored day care center. It is committed to providing professional day care and daily life care for the elderly in the district, including feeding, bathing, treatment of incontinence, escorting members to and from the center, and providing rehabilitation and social recreation activities. Elderly people receive comprehensive and high-quality care of “people-oriented” in the community and practice the concept of “ageing at home”. In order to target members with dementia, the center has set up a “Memory Counter”, which displays wedding and festive objects, as well as life photos from different eras, creating a nostalgic atmosphere, allowing members to recall their past lives and stimulating members’ future. Through a series of professional therapeutic groups, including: horticulture therapy, art therapy, music therapy, reality-oriented training, delay the degeneration of members’ dementia and maintain the ability of self-care.
