Caritas Hong Kong Elderly Service founded in 1979.
Carry out a series of services to meet the needs of the elderly and carers. Services include elderly care centers, elderly community centers, day care centers, nursing and attention homes, integrated home care services, home improvement and community care services, spa services, daily necessities shop for the elderly, Ning’an services, nursing homes, and integrated day service centers for the elderly and carers service support network.
This center is “people-oriented” and provides diversified and appropriate community support services in response to the needs of the elderly, including education and development, dementia support services, counseling services, carers services, etc. The center has been promoting the third-age academies so that the elders are motivated by their interests, with the aim of “self-initiated”, “self-learning”, “self-teaching” and “self-management”, and the ultimate goal of learning is “knowledge and enjoyment”.
This center is “community” oriented, caring for the disadvantaged, encouraging the elderly to participate in community affairs, and fulfilling the responsibilities of citizens in accordance with the characteristics and resources of the community. The elderly support team of the center establishes and consolidates the elderly network, cultivates and organizes regional volunteers, and collaborates with community groups and government departments to care for the solitary and hidden elderly in the community and rural areas. The center also educates and encourages the elderly to care about their own rights, and build a friendly community from the perspective of the elderly.
